The resort has its own small eco farm — herbs, berries, and vegetables grown on-site and served in the restaurant. There’s no need to bring food or drinks — the kitchen handles everything, and handles it beautifully. On the grounds you’ll also find four wood-fired bathhouses with cold plunge pools and SPA treatments — a story worth a whole evening of its own.

Nearby: hiking trails, horseback riding, routes to mountain lakes, and Ushkonyr Plateau at 2,000 metres — covered in wild tulips and irises in spring and known for paragliding in summer. Plan to stay at least two nights. One is simply not enough.

Deep in the gorge above the town of Kaskelen, southwest of Almaty. There is no sign on the road and the turn is easy to miss, so we send exact directions after booking. A taxi from the city works well, and the road is paved all the way.
